Part 3 of a 3-Part Series on Ketamine with Erica Sandoval (September, October & November 2026). Each session is a stand-alone offering — you may register individually without attending the earlier sessions.

Workshop Description

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a breakthrough approach to therapy and healing that still remains stigmatized in the social work field, with a significant lack of understanding and resources on the transformative approaches of this medicine. For KAP, integration is key — yet many centers only prescribe ketamine, without any integrative or therapeutic capabilities. This is why social workers play a crucial role in KAP, as they are able to provide treatment alongside therapy through ethical and trauma-informed lenses, creating the necessary integration and conditions for a client’s healing journey.

For social workers, particularly BIPOC professionals, we cannot take care of others if we do not take care of ourselves. Incorporating KAP into our own healing journeys is a transformative way to promote personal healing and post-traumatic growth, allowing us to show up more fully for our communities. KAP is a powerful medicine when healing becomes stagnant, and experiencing firsthand the benefits of KAP while incorporating it into professional practice can help social workers grow their capabilities, bring in new clients, and break down barriers in the BIPOC community.

Learning Objectives

Following this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Assess the key role that social workers play in integrating therapy and treatment during KAP sessions.
  2. Describe ways to prioritize personal healing in order to improve client care, particularly for BIPOC social workers and communities.
  3. Take the first steps towards incorporating KAP into professional practice by becoming a KAP provider.
