Join the National Day of Action
Join fellow New Yorkers for a press conference and rally marking the 61st anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid. Participants will celebrate the impact of these public healthcare programs while calling for their protection, expansion, and the creation of universal healthcare.
Following the rally, teams of advocates will visit congressional district offices across New York City to deliver materials supporting Medicare for All and the restoration of federal healthcare funding. Times and locations for those visits will vary.

Why We Are Rallying
Organizers are calling attention to rising healthcare costs, gaps in coverage, medical debt, federal healthcare reductions, and barriers preventing individuals and families from receiving necessary care.
Celebrate
Mark the 61st anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid and recognize the vital role these programs play for millions of people.
Defend
Oppose reductions to Medicare, Medicaid, Affordable Care Act assistance, safety-net hospitals, and other healthcare services.
Demand Action
Call on Congress to pass Medicare for All and on New York State lawmakers to pass the New York Health Act.
Day of Action Events
After the press conference and rally, teams of activists will visit offices of congressional representatives across New York City. These visits will coincide with events taking place across the country.
Participants will urge representatives to support Medicare for All, restore healthcare funding, and consider an open letter signed by more than 335 organizations supporting universal healthcare.
