Workshop Description

Field/Practicum Backpack Empowerment and Resources provides empowerment and support to both new and seasoned Field/Practicum Directors. The workshop begins with a five-minute meditation to support grounding and focus.  The Council on Social Work Education 2022 Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS) are used to explicitly examine the often “Unsung Work” of Field/Practicum Directors within social work education.

Through the guided review of the EPAS, participants will explore on campus, off campus, and online resources available to the field/practicum role. The session highlights how CSWE standards affirm and empower Field/Practicum Directors as essential contributors to the social work education process.

Note: Participants are encouraged to download the CSWE 2022 EPAS and CSWE 2022 EPAS Interpretation Guides in advance for use during the workshop and as ongoing reference materials.

CE Program recruited and planned by NASW-NY CE Taskforce, Macro Subgroup.
