Workshop Description

NOTE: FREE CE for NASW-NY Members in honor of Pride Month.

This presentation introduces the Legal Determinants of Health (LDOH) framework to examine how law and policy shape LGBTQ+ health and wellbeing. LDOH refer to macro-level factors—including laws, institutional practices, and governance processes—that structure the social determinants of health (SDOH), such as socioeconomic, behavioral, and environmental conditions.

Drawing on the presenter’s recent publication, this webinar explores current LGBTQ+ health disparities, builds cultural literacy, and identifies actionable opportunities for advocacy in social work practice.
