Virtual Social Work Job Fairs

Date TBD

This initiative creates community engagement opportunities, events, and/or series throughout the chapter program year that foster connections among social workers and provide essential resources, support, and advocacy tools, all while reinforcing the core values of the social work profession.

The NASW-NY C.A.R.E.S. initiative works closely with the NASW-NY Policy Team and, when necessary, the NASW-NY Professional Development Coordinator to create C.A.R.E.S. programming that incorporates CE opportunities. At its core, C.A.R.E.S. aims to collaborate with the chapter's diverse committees, special interest groups, and regional divisions.

Additionally, we take great pride in our work with social work students and strive to cultivate meaningful partnerships with prominent New York social work organizations and agencies. These efforts aim to strengthen the social work community and provide ongoing support and connection for social work professionals.

Other Elements of the C.A.R.E.S. Initiative Include:

  • The Bi-Annual CURRENTS Newsletter (est. 1956), inviting NY social workers to contribute, place ads, or share local community initiatives
  • The Annual Social Work Awards, where NY social workers are honored for their work in the profession

Though some events may be listed as exclusive to NASW-NY members, we often invite ALL to join NASW-NY C.A.R.E.S. events.

Important Information about NASW-NY C.A.R.E.S. Events:

  • All events are held virtually.
  • Unless specifically stated otherwise, events are not eligible for CE credits.
  • Beginning October 2025, to foster genuine engagement and honor the requests of our volunteer presenters, AI-powered note-taking apps (including otter.ai) will no longer be permitted during events.
