Meet the NASW-NY Staff

Kelly Moskos began her career in advertising, where she gained valuable editorial, creative and administrative experience. During a temporary work assignment at a global nonprofit, she became interested in working for an organization that cares about making a difference. Kelly joined NASW-NYC in 2010 and now assists the Executive Director, coordinates the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and other Chapter meetings, as well as assists the Nominations Committees as an intermediary. Kelly has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in writing.

Natalya has been with NASW-NYS since 2007. She started out as a part-time bookkeeper while earning her bachelor degree in Accounting at Siena College. Since 2011, she has worked full time as the Chapter Accountant and handles the responsibility of all financials of the organization. Natalya is passionate about gardening, baking, and traveling. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her four children and five grand children.

Angelique I. Rodriguez started with NASW-NYC in 2016 as the front-desk receptionist and Continuing Education Assistant, moved into the Coordinator of Community and Volunteer Initiatives position in late 2019, and has since moved into the Manager role in 2021. Angelique has a BA in Multi-Ethnic Literature and Multi-Ethnic Women and Gender Studies from the CUNY Baccalaureate for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies Program. A writer and proud bibliophile, Angelique is a three-time alum of the Voices of Our Nations Arts Foundation's writing workshops, and a two-time alum of Vanessa Martir's Writing Our Lives personal essay workshop.

Takara Emmanuel is an experienced professional with a strong background in customer service, administrative support, and community engagement. With a proven track record of enhancing member experiences, she has worked across various industries to improve customer relations, streamline operations, and support program initiatives. Takara brings valuable skills in managing member inquiries, coordinating events, and delivering effective communications to foster positive engagement. Before joining NASW-NYS, Takara worked in a range of roles, including as a Patient Affairs Coordinator at Houston Methodist, where she supported patient engagement and collaborated with teams to ensure a smooth patient experience. Takara’s expertise in administrative support and her ability to work cross-functionally will help strengthen the NASW-NYS Membership team. She is dedicated to creating a positive, supportive environment for members and assisting in the growth of membership programs. In her spare time, Takara enjoys reading, watching films, video editing, and spending quality time with her family. She is is excited to bring her skills to NASW-NYS in support of the organization’s mission.

Amanda Pressly is a highly motivated advocate for positive change that has experience in the government sector as well as the non-profit sector. Serving as the Policy Coordinator for NASW-NYS, Pressly has lived in New York State her whole life. After furthering her education at Cazenovia College, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with Minors in English and Pre-Law. Pursuing her Masters, she attended Albany Law School for a graduate degree in Government Affairs and Advocacy, solidifying her understanding about what it takes to invoke change at a local, state, and federal level. Pressly’s expertise is diverse, with a background in Public Relations, Marketing, Policy, and Government Relations. Prior to entering the social work world, Amanda Pressly has worked as Media Manager for Cazenovia Welcomes Refugees, supporting immigrants seeking asylum in Central NY. She was instrumental in the facilitation of housing projects, which housed families integrating into new communities. Also, she aided the assimilation process to engage neighbors, churches, schools, and the community-at-large to support new families in their transition. Following this era, Pressly served as a Resolution Writer for the New York State Legislative Bill Drafting Commission. Here, she acquired knowledge about the inner workings of the State Capital and experienced multiple legislative sessions, while demonstrating the Bill Drafting process. Pressly is passionate about supporting the essential social work workforce; eliminating systemic racism; implementing actions towards COVID-19 recovery; ensuring access to health, mental health, and behavior health services; addressing economic inequality and promoting increased funding in those areas; reforming criminal justice and policing; lastly, ensuring workplace safety for social workers and preventing violence. Pressly’s goals are to identify key issues in the ever-evolving field of social work and to work with the necessary political players or entities to create and fight for solutions. Her drive towards positive change will reach individuals that are members, social workers, clients, patients, and residents of under-resourced communities. Focusing the conversation on advances in social work that will inspire a betterment of services provided in communities and also bring necessary change to society is vital as we engage the public and the government. Growing up in Cherry Valley, New York, Amanda Pressly is the middle child of two brothers and is family centered. She was originally born in Long Island, and her family still enjoys sailing on the bay. In addition, she played D3 lacrosse and soccer for Cazenovia College, making it to the NCAA tournament in 2021 for lacrosse.

Gideon Mosse is a dedicated advocate with a background in government relations, political organizing, and public affairs, now serving as the Policy Coordinator for the New York City region at NASW-NYS. Gideon earned his Bachelor of Arts in Politics with a minor in Anthropology from New York University, where he cultivated a deep interest in justice, equity, and the role of policy in shaping everyday life. Gideon has worked across sectors, from nonprofit campaigns to lobbying firms, with experience in grassroots fieldwork, strategic communications, and legislative outreach. He previously served as a Government Relations Intern at Bolton-St. Johns, where he monitored legislation and supported policy research, and held key organizing roles on multiple political campaigns, including the Biden 2020 Iowa Caucus and Freddie O’Connell’s Nashville mayoral race. As Policy Coordinator, Gideon is passionate about amplifying the voice of social workers and advancing policies that improve access to mental health care, strengthen community-based services, and promote equity across New York City. He brings a people-first approach to policy, drawing on his experience building coalitions, listening to local concerns, and fighting for structural change. Outside of work, Gideon is a community builder who co-founded NYU’s Intramural Soccer Club and enjoys connecting with people from all walks of life. He’s recently picked up rock-climbing, and in his free time loves to read a good book. He’s excited to partner with social workers and policymakers to drive meaningful progress for the profession and the communities it serves.
