Advocacy Government Relations Committee (AGR)
Thursday October 8, 2026 | 6:30 - 7:30 PM EST
Social workers know the issues better than anyone. The Advocacy and Government Relations (AGR) Committee makes sure they're the ones driving the agenda.
Formed to revitalize NASW-NY's legislative efforts, the AGR Committee empowers members to lead the Chapter's advocacy and policy work from the ground up.
Each year, the committee develops and executes NASW-NY's legislative agenda by identifying priorities, building relationships with legislators, and mobilizing the Chapter's voice on the issues that matter most to social workers and the communities they serve.
Attending a Meeting
To attend an AGR meeting, email Amanda Pressly, Policy Coordinator, or Gideon Mosse, Policy Coordinator for the NYC region.
Advocacy Committees are a member benefit; however, individuals are welcome to attend their first meeting as a guest. To continue participation, membership with the NASW-NY Chapter is required. For information on how to join, visit the NASW-NY Membership page.
